Certainly not an ocean run fish, but rather release from a bait bucket. eels are great bait for catfish and stripers.
This morning i was standing out side at the deer processor where I work and a man came walking up with a five gallon bucket and said he wanted to show me . I looked in bucket and he had a barley alive eel. he said it was the second one he had caught fishing off a pier on rocky river. Any one ever heard of them being caught this fat up from the ocean? Btw I took a pic on my phone so I would have proof

We used to night fish at Lugoff for stripers. We always caught three or four eels a night. Some of them weighed 2-3 pounds.

Never seen an eel come out of Russell or Clark Hill.....but that aint saying they aint there. I just never seen or heard of it before.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
WE CAUGHT ILL AT CLARK HILL BACK IN THE LATE 80s
I have caught them on the Hill also. Seems like I caught one on Russell before but can't remember when or where..

I used to catch them in the Mill Pond in Lexington fishing for catfish under the bridge at S. Main/Hwy 6 there were quite many in that pond.
You can't catch fish from the couch.
