Since nobody is fishing or making any reports on Clark Hill you just gotta try different spots to see what's happening. Atleast that is what I have to do on my days off work which like most working stiffs my days off work comes after 5 days at work. Today I decided to re-visit a creek that I enjoy fishing when the bite is strong (like most all creeks when the bite is happening) and was pleasantly surprised at the outcome.
Again, longlining was the method I used (DUH, about all I ever do) and I pulled 1/32nds at .8 mph in 8'-13' of water from daylight until 10AM and called it a day when the wind got strong and the bite subceded. The morning began slow for the first 30 minutes picking up just a couple but after moving more towards the back of the creek the bite inproved. Little fish and big fish bit & at times there was multiple rods bending over. And as like yesterday the bite all but quit at/around 9:30AM. Fished another 30 minutes with hardly a catch. Already using a wind sock to help hold the boat so with a very slow bite I called it a day.
Final tally this morning from 6:20AM-10AM was 47 crappies and @ a 2# slimer. Here's the livewell shot for today.
