    Default The Hill 5/15 Report*

On the water again this morning at daylight and found fish fairly easy. On the graph the fish hung fairly close to the bottom in water from 13' deep to 22' deep but the ones I began catching came off a 1/16th jig about 8' down. After the sun came up good I added a small split shot getting my jigs down to around 10.5' deep running @ .9-1.0 mph and got more bites. A few times there was 2 and 3 fish on at once but generally it was one here...one there.

As last week the fish bit good early but all but quit by 9:30AM again today. I moved a few times looking for more biting fish but never found them. I did mark lots of fish and bait though, but it was like they were full on those grass shrimps and just quit biting. Stumped me but it didnt matter as I had a good morning catching 37 crappies, a little 1 # catfish and a dink striper. Oh, and a few gar getting my jigs too. Biggest of the day...

And the keepers that came home with me...
