As my username implies, I fished the middle area of the Hill this weekend near Plum Branch. The water in that area was still clear and about 72F. I did not really crappie fish but fished more for green carp (bass) as they are called here. I was seeing a lot of fish and baitfish right in the ditches of the creek channels about 30 feet deep. Trolled some 2" deep diving cranks just to see what might be down there and caught a mixture of the green carp and some pretty big perch that were attacking a 2" crank. Thought I might also get a hybrid or two and few crappie but did not get a single one.

Catching is catching so it sounds like you still had some fun. Congrats and thanks for the report.

Butch I hope you find the Hill alive with a crappie bite. Maybe the upper end has cleared some after the rains.
