Default Wylie Thursday 4-30-2015 Love those slabs

Had a chance to go so I left work at noon got in Torrance at 2:30 P.M. Still muddy tried for 45 min and just got one perch. Picked up and went to Crowders. Got in some for the next 2 hours. This long line thing really does catch quality fish like was stated in the long-ling thread. last few times out have been catching some quality crappie. Dragging 4 1/16th jigs and two 1/32nd. Different color jigs. The 1/16th about in the 6 to 7 foot level. No pattern observed they hit any color or any jig. 1/16th or 1/32nd. I kept what I wanted to filet and release the small ones and the kitties. Crowders water quality is starting to go from mud to stain.
Now the pics. Sorry for the side ways pics. They are right before I upload. Anyway to change them after upload?

Nice catch and good report. Congrats on the catch.

I'm not sure of the reason some pics load sideways. I just saved them to my computer and rotated them for you.

Longlining WILL catch quality fish. Lots of years the Crappie Classic held on Clark Hill is won from longliners. Lots of times you will see fish holding at a certain depth on the graph which will dictate which size jigs to use to get the jigs right over top of the fish. Just dont go heavy and pull your jigs UNDER the fish or the bite wont be nearly as good. When longlining youre after the "aggressive" fish and they'll swim up after the jigs.

CK . You keep it up and we can have a longline seminar on Wylie. You be the teacher. Great lookin fish. Only problem I see is Brettw keeps cryin in the lake and raising the level again. Take him fishin before it floods again.

Don't forget to get you a camouflage hat so you can sneak up on them.
