    Default Wylie 7-25-14 Morning

Got out on Big Allison about daylight with uncle remus. We caught perch at most of the places we stopped but all were on the small size. Most hit minnows in about 24'. Bite was slow but steady till about 9 then nothing.

Didn't count them, but we had about 60 perch & a couple of cats.

Always good to hear of a substantial perch kill, well done.

Sounds like a fine morning of fishing. I too enjoy perch jerking in the winter months. The common consensus is that anybody can catch a perch and a lot of folks look at them as more of a "trash fish." Truth be known, I'd just assume eat a perch as any fish in the lake and they put up a good fight. My favorite method is catching them bumping bottom with spoons, but sometimes the minnows are needed to really load the boat. Those perch can be tempermental like anything else. I've seen trips where you can mark the fool out of fish, but can't buy a bite. Other trips you can't get your bait down without getting bite. It's fun fishing for sure!
Hooking up every chance I get!
