    Default Wind surfing on Secession

Been a couple of weeks since I had a chance to fish so when I got up this morning and they were calling for 10 to 15 mph winds I hooked to the boat and off to the lake me and Rosco went!

Should have know their 15 mph would turn out more like 30 mph!! That's OK also, pulled out the drift socks and was able to slow the boat down to .07 so all was well with the speed. Only problem was the fish have moved in tight to brush so spider rigging the flats wasn't working today.
I pulled in the socks and pulled up to any tree top I found and was able to catch a few off each top. On one tree I caught three at once, it was interesting trying to get all of the pole up before the wind pushed the boat into the tree Just a part of fishing the wind....

Nothing big was caught today but did manage to catch 12 keeper fish out of the 33 crappie that was caught today. Dropped them by my sisters house on my way home, think they may have been eaten by now Also caught 17 small largemouth bass in the 8 to 12'' range, looks like the bass had a good spawn also. With all the small fish being caught lately the spring bite should be very good for the next few years.

Few pics of the day. Always great to be on the lake

That wind didnt mess up Roscoe's hair did it? That is a nice catch on a slightly breezy day. Like the way those socks keep the boat straight. Guess I gotta find room on my tub for a coulpe.

Way to fight the wind and win Stump, I know down my way the winds were howling around 20 to 30 all day long. Congrats on hanging on, and putting a nice mess of fish in the box.
