    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From Southern crappie rules"
To qualify for the Bass Pro Shops Classic, you and your partner must first be members in at least 5 regular events. If for any reason you or your partner cannot attend the Classic, one of you may fish for your team. You cannot switch partners for the Classic. A team that has split during the year must get approval from the board of directors before they can fish individually."----

    hope this helps

-------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have been envolved with grandkids activities. Unfortunatly not fishing activities. Haven't been crappie fishing in over a year just sort of drifted away from the talk. Football, basketball, baseballl and now starting football again. I enjoy being envolved with them, I help coach and it seems like with daily activities and evening practices my fishing has been set aside..

back in the eighties they used to tag fish and folks would take the tags to local shops, turn em in and get paid a prize for what ever the tag was worth. they done this a few years, then a couple years they would pay off on weight. certain sized fish would be worth a certain amount. some reel companies offered huge payoffs if you caught the prize fish using their equip. then every spring theyd have a crappie tournament called the crappiethon. we used to fish these tournaments in area lakes. i finaly got out of fishing tournaments cause it seemed they was mostly won by the pros that followed the trails. all us local guys was forking over the big bucks to fish and the pros was taking the moolah home. i think they finally started having a amateur division. i am wondering if there is a crappiethon tournaments going on anywhere now? is there any lakes they release tagged fish where prizes are offered for the tags? or is all this water under the bridge now?
