i got a house down there and whoa (wateree home owners association) sent me a notice that they was not going to let it down this year. had something to do with not enough rain up river and it would mess up something bout some kind of fish breading if not enough water comes down didnt pay a lot of attintion to it realy after i read not leting it down. got a ramp i need to do some work on and was sort of disapointed i cant get it done
-- they do it to check something at on or around the dam so when they let it down people work on they piers and rock walls and water edge stuff while its down

Thanks Uncle Remus. I am down at my place on Wateree this week and didn't know if I should retie my pontoon boat or not. Didn't want to come back and find it hanging on the dock. I have some work I need to do on my ramp and seawall but guess it will wait until next year.

They normally draw it down during Thanksgiving. I guess the lawsuit that was pending at the time kept them from doing it..They lost the lawsuit, so well see what happens. I am sure it will just be appealed and sent "up river". I think the same group also has a lawsuit against Santee Cooper as welll, but I have not heard that decision.

I've seen it drawn down after Thanksgiving and after the first of the year. Can't seem to find a place where they post a schedule. I would think it should be on the water level web page but can't see it there.
