It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but always enjoyed looking at different depth finder images. I ran across this yesterday. It turned out to be a big school of gar.

Sunken boat and brush. Lake Greenwood.
Old post I know but if the water you were on was experiencing spring turnover then that would cause what you were seeing.

Bait wasn't hard to find
Fish on the other hand
I swear sometimes that I spend more time playing with this thing than I do fishing. Haha. I keep the sharpness off and I adjust the sensitivity and contrast. I watched a YouTube video and a guy was saying he would adjust his sensitivity to get enough detail, but not so high that the bottom is too bright. Then he would adjust the contrast anywhere from 2 below to 2 above the sensitivity setting. That particular day is the way I had it adjusted. I also try different chart speeds. Setting it slightly higher than your travel speed sometimes helps. With this image, I was only going about 1-2 mph and I believe my chart speed was set 2-3. Here are a couple other images from a recent trip.

Yea, looks like the crappie are coming off the brush and are shallow enough to catch by longlining again. With those water temps it's time for me to get my boat dusted off and get back on the water. Thanks for posting.
