The shimano 1000s or 2000s are the Best Buy for a reel. You can get either for less than $15. I have probably 12 or 14. Some several years old and never had the first problem with any.

The 12' Mr. Crappie Slab Shakers are fine and Grizzly has them for 4 for 80/90$ I have had mine for 5 years and they are great. I fish 3 times or more a week. Never broke one. Action is fine for 1oz weights plus jigs and they pull cranks good.
