Default trade 52 inch shaft minnkota fortrex for 45 inch shaft

I bought a 2 yr old minnkota fortrex with a 52 inch shaft to replace my pinpoint trolling motor when ever the pinpoint died. Well the time has come. Unfortunately the 52 inch shaft fortrex is to long to mount on my SeaArsk so I'm interested in trading the 52in shaft for a 45in shaft fortrex.

Just cut down the shaft to 45 inch.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

    Hogster1,
I had considered doing that but the overall length of the bracket itself without the trolling motor when fully extended flat hangs over the outer boat edge which would interfere with docks etc.
I was hoping that the overall length of the bracket with the 45inch shaft would actually be shorter than the 52 inch bracket. I will need to verify the actual bracket length of each motor. If the bracket for the 45inch shaft is shorter then it will work. The overall length of the bracket on my pinpoint fully extended/flat is 43 inches vs the fortrex which is 58 inches.

I have decided to sell this trolling motor. It is a 80# thrust, digital, 24v, 52" shaft minnkota fortrex with US2 trolling motor. Excellent condition with minimal usage.
$700 picked up in central Illinois. 618-751-0220.
