Default Side Scan For Brim Beds

I have Lowrance HDS units on my boat. Have side scan, structure scan, down scan, and a lot of other stuff I really don't know how to work. Looking for help to find brim beds using my side scan. Seems I am not getting enough of a closeup picture to pick out areas with beds. What settings do I need to adjust to bring these into the screen?
    Appreciate all comments and suggestions.

Definitely no expert here. I would first look at the contrast. A good starting point is 60%. If you start to see something but not sharp enough go to 70% and check it. 65% works pretty good on my Garmin.

I have not used a Lowrance since 2001. So I can’t help you with adjustment of their units. But as to whether you should give up on si and just go fishing that is a big no. I no longer can spend 10 hours on the water. Side scan saves me a whole lot of time. For years now it has put me on an uncountable number of bluegill beds. I find beds with it in areas that are often overlooked….like out in the smack dab middle of a bay. I also use it to do what I call bed picking throughout the weeks following the first big spawn. You may only see 3-4 fish on a bed that originally held 50 but with the si you can see those 4 fish…make a few casts and you’re going to catch a few them, move on and pick the next bed. If I were not out in Arkansas house hunting I would have used si the past 4 days to do just that. So don’t give up on it..it is an extremely valuable tool.

    Regards
