Humminbird has the best SI screen size make sure it hurts the pocket book when it comes to learning and using SI screen size is huge. You mention you want it to find Bream beds would it not even be a bit better to be able to see if fish are on them? I run Helix 12`s Gen 3`s my first SI was when Hbird first came out, my first SI unit was the 797 I gave up using SI. My next update was the 1198 now that was a game changer when it came to actually having SI as a real tool, makes one heck of a difference having a fish show up as 2-3 pixels versus maybe 10-20 pixels.

Next is taking the time to actually learn and make good use of the technology, I left my rods at home and spent the whole day just learning how to use and read SI. Now I never drop a line in the water if I cannot find fish using my SI first. There have been times I have spent hours idling along on different structure looking for fish why would I want to waste time with my line in the water if there are not any fish there.

I have a helix 10 Si gen 1 on my trolling motor and can see beds very very good before the grass gets up on our lake .then it’s all about a good pair of polarized glasses and the sun to your back and just covering water !

Don’t rule out the Garmin UHD units, a bit pricey but Garmin has come along way on their units. IMHO, it’s a toss up on image quality between birds and Garmin unless I’m seriously missing something. Again, just my .02.
