Fuzziness or noise on one side of Side Imaging
Went to Lake Eufaula yesterday to try out my new terrova. While idling through pataula Creek I found some interesting structures submerged under the water. I am still having a bit of fuzz or static is the best way to describe it on the right side imaging. I have attached some images of what I found that I took with my phone camera as well as the back of my boat so you can see transducer placement. I have two transducers so I can see left and right without having to raise my motor and they are close to the outboard due to the shape of the back of the boat. The right side is always brighter than the left. I don't know if I may have to tilt the transducer up a little bit on that right side or what. If anybody has any ideas regarding this I sure would appreciate it.

That's a test I will need to do. Wonder if I could swap the cables at the splitter and make the left show as the right side and left show as right.

There may be some blockage if the port xducer looks right and the starboard xducer looks left ... the SI beam covers all the way to waters surface ...Originally Posted by huntersdad

This may determine if the fuzziness is in the head unit or the current starboard xducer ...

I'm still getting the bad fuzziness at anyting over 10 to 12 feet deep. Switching to 455 doesn't make it any better. I have went from the lowest sensitivity and contrast to highest and everything in between. I know right now the crappie should be deep but with my unit the way it is I can't see anything in the water column. See attached photo. It also does this when switching from mega to 455 on di. The fuzz is really bad then when I switch, the fuzz clears up in the mega half then reappears in the 455. Is this even normal?

The DI looks like a thermocline to me.

In the first image, I was running the down scan in mega. It still had the same fuzz as you see where I clicked the 455. But once I selected the 455 the fuzz cleared out of the section that was Mega but reappeared after selecting 455.

The fuzz being on one side only indicates a transducer problem or head unit problem ...
Have you tried swapping sides with the xducers yet ... ??
