Default Adding second humminbird mega transducer

I am wanting to add a second transducer to the left side of my boat so I can see both sides without having to raise my motor and have better boat control. If i do this using the L/R cable will I still be able to see suspended fish in the black area of the side imaging screen? I believe the right side xducer will show right side/down image, sonar and left side would do left side only. I'm just not clear if the black area would still be the same as it is now since the xducers would be 2.5 to 3 feet apart.

You will not notice any difference in the black water column of the SI image when the left and right SI xducers are that close together ...

*Left SI will come from the port mounted xducer ...
*Right SI, DI, 2d and temp will come from the starboard mounted xducer ...

One more crazy question, I just purchased the cable that you mentioned so I can view left and right images with the motor down. It did get me thinking, in the future I would also like to add a shoot through puck for 2D Imaging while on plane. Would this cable be what I needed so I could have the left and right transducers as well as the puck.

    9 M SIDB Y - HELIX Side Imaging & 2D Sonar Splitter Cable
    Correct ... 9 M SIDB Y cable allows splitting off the 2d to a secondary 2d xducer ...

The 9 M SIDB Y cable will have one leg labeled “imaging” and one leg labeled “2d” ...

In your case also using the 9 M SILR Y cable ...:

*The 9 M SILR Y will connect to the “imaging” leg of the 9M SIDB Y cable ...
*The secondary 2d xducer will connect to the “2d” leg of the 9 M SIDB Y cable ...
