I wish I could help you. I have the echo map plus 73sv and before I got the livescope transducer, I mainly kept my gain around 65 to 70 with noise reduction on low, TVG on low. But for me it seems like every day is different, but mainly all I ever changed was the gain and contrast a little, just depending on what the images looked like, I have a helix mega si and di now, with my livescope setup, so I don't use the garmin anymore for those kinds of images. I would say to take just one day and don't even bring a pole, just go out on the water and play around with it until you're familiar with it, it would especially help if you already know where some kinds of structure is already, that way you can go over it, and since you already have an idea of what the structure is, you can adjust your unit to give you the best image.
