    Default Thor's Hammer

I guess I've been watching too many Marvel movies with my Grandson as when I look at this screenshot from Monday I see the baitfish formed up into a shape that reminds me of Thor's hammer. Only a couple of crappie deep in the brush here but the baitfish were everywhere. Sure is hot here, hoping to get out soon but the heat is brutal.Name: S00162.jpg

When the fish are deep in brush like that, what approach do you take to fish it?

Vertical jigging works best for me when they are in this tight.

That is our current normal depth with 32’ being deep. Vertical jigging with jig or jig tipped with minnows here in central Texas. Don’t you just love Roy’s pics?

I've circled 4 fish that were most likely crappie. I believe I caught 1 or 2 fish here. The bite for me in this area was really tough with all this bait around
I only caught 8 crappie that morning along with 7 catfish and 3 white perch after checking a dozen or so brushpiles back in a major creek. It seems allot of the crappie have moved out towards the main lake.Name: S00162_kindlephoto-393775637.jpg
