    Default Is it possible?

I’m trying to get ideas about the possibility of mounting a Lowrance triple shot transducer to the bottom of a flat bottom Jon. Can it be done without interference or even done at all? This boat will be used in stumpy, tree filled lakes and it really would rather it not be stuck out of the back of the boat to probably get ripped off the 1st time out. Appreciate any ideas and pros and cons anyone may have experienced trying this. Thanks

I have one mounted to a flat bottom It is no lower than the ribs of the boat and I have no issues with it. No interference issues.

When I had Lowrance,,,had a 7 SI/DI and cabelas had a bracket you could mount flush underneath...not sure but look around..that was 4-5 yrs ago. Worked like a charm fishing tree fill lake and stumpbeds.

You probably won’t have much luck getting readings if you mount it in the bottom of the boat. I tried doing it with a 2d transducer and readings weren’t very reliable. You’re Probably not going to be running very fast on a lake like that so I’d mount it on a transom a couple inches higher than the bottom of the boat and I’d leave the bracket pivot screws loose enough that it would kick up if you hit a stump.

Here is the bracket that Lowrance has for a flush mount in the bottom of your boat that I used. I got excellent readings installing it between the ribs of a 1648 g3 jon. And got excellent bottom readings at 26 mph. It worked for me. Don’t know if they make a bracket for your transducer like this, but it won’t be hard to fashion. The transducers 6 screws fit this flush mount.

Look on Youtube. I took a piece of that plastic fascia trim board from Lowe's and used some 3M Marine adhesive from Academy Sports. Let it set for a few days. No holes in your boat, because the transducer is screwed to the glued on board. Good luck.

Maybe consider mounting it on the trolling motor or on an adjustable pole so you can raise and lower it. Good luck.
I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.

    Default Spring loaded mount

It's not a Lowrance, but here's what I came up with for Daddy's boat. He was tearing transducers off the back of the boat most every trip to the stump filled swamps of Santee cooper. This rig has been unscathed on his boat for over two years. It's just two pieces of channel nestled together. There's a spring to hold it in the lowered position and a lock pin to hold it in the raised position.

If your worried about it being ripped off where it's at, why would you move it to the bottom of the boat?
