I was able to downgrade mine to the previous release, using the forced upgrade procedure from Garmin. I have the echomap file zip if you want to try it (if your chartplotter is on the Echomap list at Garmin). I got it from a brother on BBC. Garmin will tell you how to do a forced load, but will not give you the older file. I figured someone may have saved it, and was right. I normally use AC, so I didn't have the file, but I do now. My Ultra went from 11.2 back to 10.0, and the GLS10 from 2.30 (the bad) to 2.20. Headed to the lake in a few to try it out.

Anyone have the prior release before 18.10? My 8610xsv was updated with the 18.10 via Active Captain. Garmin techs have me on a list for when they have an update that fixes that update. Was wondering if I could reverse the latest update via SD card or am I asking for more trouble? Thanks to all that work through these issues and share your results. That is what makes this site so different from every other.

Sounds like some are having success reverting back to an earlier version. I know I don't have any saved updates via sd card but plan to do so for all future updates. Hopefully Garmin will come out with a fix in the next week or so. I'll keep mine as is until then and just do the best I can with it, I don't want to.chance forcing an old update into my system and causing more issues. Glad for those that are confident in their ability to do so but I'll just wait.

Absolutely my position also. Screen in not unusable just noticeably blurry and not as distinct. Still better than any other technology.

I agree, but just wanted to try it out once, because I could.

And it loads perfectly. Cannot test it as they shut the lake down and all access points including our private park/ramp.

And as it turns out the actual fix to the update is for the GLS10. The update for the chartfinder is ok.
