    Default interferance

    Interference guestion

I have a gen 3 12 at the bow with a lss1 transducer and box on the motor and it gives crystal clear images when the trolling motor is on on down and sidscan. But on the console I have another gen 3 12 and i get a bleached out or fog image on down and side image when the trolling motor is on.. any suggestions on how to figure this out ?

    That sounds really odd ...

Is the console unit using the xducer on the TM thru Ethernet ...??

SO the LSS1 TD is connected to the unit that is good, right? And the one that is bad is sharing it?

So the noise must be coming in on either the ethernet cable, or coupling thru the power. What do you mean by "on the same set of wires"? You mean the power is daisy-chained with only one pair going to the battery? Just spit-balling here, no real Lowrance experience. $0.02. If possible, while up and running on the water, create the noise (TM on, etc), and while watching the noisy one, temporarily unplug the ethernet and see if it clears up. Obviously the shared sonar pic will go away, but we are interested in the noise. How is it foggy? You mean freckly kinda noise on all screens (views)?

Do you have a multiple bank charger? I have a 4 bank charger. My Helix 10 on the dash is attached to an accessory battery. I had a snowy image when running the Terrova, I pulled both fuses on charging wires to accessory battery. No snow. Pulling only the positive fuse made no difference. My accessory battery is only for dash electronics bilge and livewell pumps, power port on dash. My trolling batteries are only trolling and power port and Helix 5 on bow.

Ok I will try to clarify more. The bow unit that clear has a lss1 and structure scan box on the trolling motor....the console unit that get cloudy has a lss2 on the transom the only thing in common between the two units is the eathernet cable that links the two units ...and both units share the same power wire that is ran directly from the cranking battery

Do you have a common battery charger connected to the TM batteries and the electronics battery?

I’m gonna agree with jawjatek that the Ethernet cable seems to be the common denominator ...

Do you have another Ethernet cable to test?? ... or even remove the Ethernet cable from under the deck and temporarily run the Ethernet cable above the deck ...

Unhook the Ethernet cable and see if it clears up the console unit. If it doesn’t check the Transducer cable going to the console unit.It could have a bad shield or it could be picking up interference from the power cables going to the trolling motor.
You could try running the transom LSS cable on top of the deck to see if anything changes.
