I bought the Black Friday helix 10 msi g2n at Bass Pro. The unit came with 2.110 already loaded. Humminbird informed me that I didn’t need 2.180 unless I was going to feed mega 360 to it from a g3n unit. The strange thing is that the unit came with the XM 9 HW MSI T transducer instead of the XM 9 20 MSI T. Was told I would get better separation but wasn’t Low Q. And that the unit wouldn’t work with the older transducer. Been out one time due to weather and the 2d and si at 450 was really nice. However the si at 800 was dark and was darker at 1.2 mega. Adjusting sensitivity helped but not much. Hoping this was due to the muddy conditions. But still intend on adjusting the transducer.

Why wouldn't use the Mega frequency range and adjust from there? Only in spring when there is an algae bloom with lots of pollen in the water will I change my unit to 455.
Are you fishing over 40 fow or trying to side scan over 80 feet per side? Just curious, if not using Mega you might as well get an older unit.

Try turning off and on the dynamic contrast while using Mega, if it's on it can make the image look darker. If you still have trouble post your settings I'm sure someone can help.
