Default Front finder paired with 999si?

Probably be a few months before I buy but I’m rigging out a new to me 1860 boat. I currently have a HB 999ci Si that I’d like to put at the console. I bought a Terova 80# with iPilot link in the fall.

What should I put up front? I’ll probably start rigging this weekend.

Is there a cable I should go ahead and pull while everything is apart to make it easier when I get the front unit?

I’d like to have di up front but I don’t think it’ll work with the duvet in the troller?

I’ve never linked two together so I’m clueless.

    Thanks

You will need an AS EC QDE adapter cable for each head unit ... http://www.humminbird.com/Products/AS-EC-QDE/

if you want to Ethernet 2 units and iLink you will need AS ETH 5XPG Ethernet switch ... http://www.humminbird.com/Products/AS-EC-QDE/
The AS ETH 5XPG requires 12v power so plan it's installation ...

Then you will need an Ethernet cable for each head unit long enough to reach the AS ETH 5XPG switch ... http://www.humminbird.com/Freshwater...s/?facets=7319,

The iLink should come with an Ethernet cable to reach the AS ETH 5XPG switch ...

Thanks Rickie. That makes me dizzy.

What would be a good di unit to put up front to pair with my 999si?
    9” and up.

Probably won’t get one anytime soon but I’m about to rig my new boat. I’d like to run all the wires I’ll need before I put hydroturff in.

Will the si image show on the di unit when they are linked? I’d like a 10” up front

CHIRP must be shut off the HELIX in order to share fixed frequency sonar to the 999 ...

Am I right in saying Chirp really has no benefit to someone fishing 30’ or less. The HB class I went to at Grizzly Jig last year said chrip was only good for deep water.

CHIRP (by science) has the potential to collect more data - regardless of water depth ...

Is it noticeable? Probably not like day and night difference ...

It’s for the 2D? Mega is the di si improvement? I hardly ever use the 2D. I never figured out how to get it set right.

All that said I think I’m inthe market for a Helix 10 g3 Mega+ di.
