Put my hands on the Garmin Striker Plus 9sv today and really like the ease of use. Also played around with the Helix 7 chirp SI G2 and if real world application is as clear as the simulation mode, I am sold! Can anyone confirm this?

Where did your buddy find 7 for 599.00?

I bought a Helix 7 when they came out and has bubbles under the screen and DI/SI only worked for a month or so. Worst unit I’ve ever had. Has me tainted on anything bird. Now sits in garage and soon to be in dumpster. My lowrance elite 7 and hook 7ts have worked very well and get me on the fishies on the cheap.

My buddy has a Garmin. My brother has Lowrance. I upgraded to Mega imaging this year. Its unreal how much more detail the Mega has. I
On your budget, the Helix 7 mega is the best choice.
    Good luck !
