This is how my bamboo looks on SI. I'm pleased with the results and I think the location should be a great one. My only complaint is that quikrete is heavy, my poor back is killing me.

I hope it last a long time but have no idea. There is a creek arm on Gaston lake NC that still has a lot of wood in it from the 60s so I hope this bamboo will last several years.

You need a structure deploying assistant/fishing partner with tight lips. I've got one. 80 lbs/2 is a lot easier to heave over than 80 lbs alone. Just sayin.....

Yep! That's what boo habitat looks like on sonar. Just wait till it looks like white dots all over and around it. Then throw a buoy on it set back from it and cast toward and around it you will fill the boat with slabs for sure. I will be looking forward to seeing your reports and pictures.
Be safe and good luck fishing

Go look on the structure/cover board and one of the most recent posts has a guy putting out cover in a pretty slick way.

I use about 8 branches of bamboo quickcreted in a concrete block. Not too heavy and if I wanted more brush I would just add one more set tied to the first one. Set both on your deck (I used cardboard underneath to protect the deck) then kick the first one over the side and the second one follows. The bamboo will naturally try to float up but the concrete block weighs it down perfectly. Tremendous habitat!

I fish a Tennessee Lake with a friend that has lived there since the mi 90's. He has sunk bamboo for many years and swears he has piles of bamboo that are over ten years old. Having fished with him I will say that is awesome stuff for crappie.
