    Default SI on trolling motor?

Anyone run a Helix SI Mega on their trolling motor? I have a 9 at my console and just upgraded to a 10, not so I'd have a 1" larger screen but for the higher resolution screen. I don't know if I'm going to move my 9 up front of keep the 10 DI that I have up there. Checking to see what others think about SI on the TM? I am concerned that with the TM turning the image will be blurry and I think for the SI to display correctly the boat has to be moving around 3 mph.

HB Side Imaging does well at TM speeds as long as the Chart speed is set to match boat speed ...

Turning the TM with a SI xducer attached does affect the image ... as long as the TM is kept straight when you want pretty internet pictures ... and then understand what the "smear" is when turning the TM ...

(See the 3 fishes at upper left after I turned the TM and caused the SI to smear?)

Thanks for the info Rickie. That pretty much settles it I guess. LOL

Is there an adapter made to use my current transom mount ducer on the TM? I looked and the TM ducer looks just like the one on the back of the boat, except with the half cylinder and clamps to fit the TM.

Transducer Shield and Saver probably has one also ... It would be beefier - and more expensive ...

I don't have HB but I do have my Garmin 93sv chirp on my TM at bow (jon boat, only propulsion source), foot controlled. I certainly would echo Rickie's statements about using it so. Doug V had some good video information also. I don't think turning it slowly is any prob, turning sharply will give a blurred band about 3/8 or so wide and then back to normal. These guys feedback is what convinced me it was worthy of trying when all the pundits were saying no-no back then.

You could also add a 360 transducer. You can stop the rotation of the 360 and get side imaging from the ducer. In this scenario you don't get any smudge from turning the trolling motor. Although if you turn the boat enough you will.
