The Gen 3 helix will network with the previous helix units. But to get the mega + you will need a gen3 unit and network from it.

The Gen 2 Solix will network with the Gen 1 Solix and Onix. But you will need the Gen 2 Solix to get the mega + . The Gen 2 Solix will also have a new menu sytem.

New transducers on the new units as well. More clarity in the screen visuals. Also the new transducers will allow you to scan farther out and deeper. Helix Mega GN3 8 and 9 are in a smaller case than Helix Mega GN2 9 inch model.

I hope that is the only major difference. I do not need extra distance sideways or down.

X2! If it’s not compatable with my current Solix I don’t need it, ie new TD.

If they're coming out with a product similar to Livescope, will it work with the G2N units?

The new transducers have the lowQ for 2d. I have the lowQ transducer on my Mega DI unit I bought a couple of months ago. Both the 2d and the DI are improved over the current 2d and DI that are in the combined Mega SI/DI transducers that come with the Mega G2N units.
