must have hit 88 mph on those days LOL sorry i couldnt resist.
When taking a snapshot on my Helix 10 Mega si........and the same would happen on my old 899 si........many times the date on the image is December 31, 1969. I have formatted the SD card many times. While I have not tried another SD card......I have others but too large a capacity for the unit.......I just find it odd most snapshots will have proper date but every so often I get one with the December 31, 1969 date. And yes my time and date is correct on unit. Has anyone ever experienced this?

I have seen similar date oddities in my old 1197 ...
If the unit Menu is set to also assign a Waypoint at the SnapShot creation - this is one scenario where a corrupt Waypoint can cause gremlins in the unit functionality ...
It would be a good practice to check the Waypoint date in the unit memory (when a Snapshot is created) and delete the Waypoint if the date is erroneous ...
A Waypoint created at a Snapshot creation is denoted with a "Sxxxxx" assignment character sequence ...

December 31, 1969 is the "unix epoch" date (actually the day before for USA zones relative to GMT). In some systems programming (SW), time is kept as a count of seconds since this date. When a file shows this date, it means the time field is null, or all zeroes - for some reason. So when the file was created, the timestamp got left all zeroes because of some bug.
