    Default Side View transducer

Need a little help here. I have a Garmin 73sv and a Garmin 73 plus dv. I am wanting to run the SV at the console on my Nitro bass boat and the DV on my trolling motor. Is that what you would recommend? Where do you mount the transducer for the SV on the back of the boat. Some people say center, some people say it doesn't matter as long as the motor doesn't block the transducer when it's trimmed down. I have never ran anything but a thru hull on a glass boat. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It would be best if you could take couple of pictures of the back of your boat.
That way people with the same set up can tell you exactly how to mount the transducer.

Maybe this will help. The first set back is about 6" and the next is about 2.5"Name: 20180925_145853.jpg

Here is a You Tube video that may be a help. The 2nd half shows a glass boat much like the step bottom like yours I think so you can see how he installed the transducer. Maybe Rickie can also tell you a better way. I will be looking forward to seeing your fish and sonar pictures when you get it to going.

I watched that video. He has it mounted to where it can only be used at idle speeds. It is out of the water when on plane. He has a second transducer in the hull and is using a Y cable so both will work.

I think Garmin does offer a Y cable and shoot thru xducer option for glass hulls ...

Or you'll have to mount the transom xducer on the lowest step to actually be in the water on plane (as the video posted above indicates) ...
