    Default Catching more on DI

I seem to be catching more fish when I run the split screen shown.
Locate with SI then switch to DI and sitting on them.
I’m definitely putting more in the boat when spider rigging.
Is this the standard or do you use a different screen?

Split screen or not I’d fish either image haha! Nice pics. I personally do better running sonar only. I can’t get my DI to show much but it’s probably me not knowing how to set it.

I agree. My SI skills are lacking.

I don't have SI capabilities on my unit (Hook7), but do have 2d & DI. I don't even bother with the 2d screen, but go full screen DI most of the time. I never could make hide nor hair out of 2d images, so I went straight to DI when I got my latest boat.
When I had my previous unit (Lowrance Elite 5DSI) I monkeyed around with the color palettes and eventually settled on the blue. The multi-colored palettes were just to "busy" for me to determine at a glance what was on the screen. The blue was easier on the eye and the image popped at a glance. When I replaced the E5DSI with the Hook 7, I automatically set the palette on blue. Recently I got a map chip, but haven't been (in my boat) since getting it ... but, when I do use it next, I'll probably do some split screen time when Pushing jigs/cranks on certain lakes (so I can follow contours or channel edges). I run my DI at 800kHz & get real good images, especially in water less than 25ft deep.

I'm with you, I find them with SI and then fish for them using 2d and DI. I really like my DI to show me individual fish and how they are relating to structure, 2d is great for seeing fish activity, if they are moving or stationary. Nice shots, thanks for posting.

Thanks guys. I'm still learning my units as well. It sure seems that others are getting much clearer DI images than I can produce but I'll also tell you that when I get on the water I struggle with multi-tasking and fishing usually wins my efforts over messing around trying to clear it up.

Thanks Pappy. I think I'll try that blue pallet on next outing

I struggle with DI, I normally run 2d and map split screen. I am only running a Helix 5 at console, nothing up front yet

Your DI images will clear up once the thermoclines and algae/plankton blooms are done for the year ...

455kHz will also clear the DI image somewhat (higher frequencies tend to show particulate more prominent) ...

Press the check mark button ✔️ to change thru the available frequencies ...

I almost always start out searching with side image and then might switch to DI. My 2D on my Helix I use mostly when spot locked fishing for say white perch. I like to use the real time bar on my 2D to see my vertical jigging and when fish are moving under the boat. I had a hard time wrapping my brain around SI but now I love it.
