Default Lowrance LSS-2 vs Lowrance Total Scan

I've got the LSS-2 installed and running on my Gen 3 12 touch. I'm looking at all angles prior to possibly making a switch to bird's or staying with Lowrance. So, what is the difference in these two ducers?

What is the best side scan and down imagining ducer available from Lowrance? When I look at my screens, they are not as crisp as the birds.
Here are a couple of down imaging shots from my Gen 3.

    TotalScan is 2d/DI/SI ...

    LSS 1 & 2 are DI/SI ...

I still think the LSS-1 had the best downscan.

The LSS-2 and Totalscan are similar.

The 3D is Lowrance's best sidescan transducer.

Humminbird got the sidescan thing started, and I still think they hold the edge in sidescan imaging.

Don’t know what you have to complain about with your DI there. Got me lost on that. As long as you can interprit what you’re reading on your current units who cares how crisp your DI/SI is compared to whatever.

those look good to me. it could be a setting change to clear it up a bit. I still cant get my units to clear up but I can read them and that is what matters.

I appreciate the feedback on my screen shots. Yes, they are good but in some cases they are not as clear and precise as some that I have seen from a 'Bird.

Now, I was asking about transducer differences, and wanted to throw another wrench at the monkey...... What about the Lowrance 3D transducer. I have heard some very impressive things about it, but not sure if you must or not have the 360 module with it. In other words, does it still do SI and DI w/o the 360 hub while it is hooked up to a Gen 3 touch?

the 3D transducer must be connected to the 3D module. Then you run Ethernet cables from the module to your units.
