    Default Side Imaging on Plane

Do you boys get side imaging when your boat is on plane; say 20 MPH and higher ?

My transducer is mounted on side of jackplate and can't get any imaging over 5-6 mph....LOL Really doubt that you can get any usable imaging over 10mph due to noise but that may vary according to boat and transducer positioning.

I can get usable images at about 20MPH, but that is pretty well the limit. Even at 20 the quality isn't as good as it is at idle.

Your transducer must be installed lower on the back of the boat. My transducer is either out of water or in highly aerated water at that speed (on-plane)

All I get is a single line across the screen.

I do on my aluminum boat depending on how rough the water is ..... but about the only thing it's good for is identifying major structure like creek channels.

Spent a lot of adjusting the transducer. Ending up reversing normal position putting smooth part forward and lowering down like a skimmer transducer. Great shots only thing missing is detail <*)}}}><

Ah , tricks of the trade. Thank you Chatt. I have been thinking about it and I don't have what it takes to hang it down there though. I know I would knock it off. I think I read the Helix 10 SI ducer was directional. I wonder if I could reverse it to get the cable tucked up to the transom?

I would think you would need to increase your chart speed by allot to get any detail. I know that I can mark a brushpile going 30+ mph using 2d.
