I know very little about this but trying to learn all I can, so my guess is because they would have to be sticking up out of the water.

IF YOU LOOK CLOSE AT THE ENDS YOU CAN SEE THAT THEY CURVE ALITTLE WHERE THEY BROKE INTO UNDER HEAVY LOAD,,,LOL,JUST KIDDING.THINK BECAUSE THEY ARE DISTANT UNITS AND WHEN IT GOT TO ITS CLOSEST POINT TO DUCER SO IT WAS TAKEN OVER BY OTHER SIDE AT ITS CLOSES POINT AND OUTWARD,IN OTHER WORDS IF YOU TAKE IT OFF OF WATER COLUMN THEY WOULD BE CONNECTED TO EACH OTHER.THE REST OF THE SPACE INBETWEEN THE CABLE IS WATER COLUMN TO TOP OF WATER

The center image is straight down so this is how you have to interpret the center depth(see illustration) which is 15.4 ft. so if you folded the sonar picture like this illustration the two ends would come together.

With all the data points available on SI, isn't it possible in the near future that we may see more of a real 3D view on touch screen models including Scrat's illustration? Just seems like we're in the real early stages of this technology... Thoughts?

Lowrance 3D has that tech already ...

There doesn't seem to be any stellar reports on it yet (except maybe from pro staff) ...

What videos I've seen seem to paint the bottom very well in 3D rendering ... The touch screen even allows manipulating the 3D view around from different directions ...

But I've not seen this tech show brush or stakebeds at all ...

rn, Could be that was the depth under the boat the cables met. Top one being close to the bottom and the other two being just off bottom. Anchor cables for a dock Have that angle from the blocks to the dock. What ya think?

THIS IS A GOOD EXAMPLE TO SHOW US THAT JUST BECAUSE HE IS IN 15 FOW AND THAT HIS SI IS SET TO ABOUT 90 FEET THAT WHEN YOU SEE SOMETHING AT 16 FEET AWAY ,THAT DO NOT MEAN IT IS 16 FEET TO ONE SIDE,UNIT ARE LITTLE MISLEADING THERE,15 FEET SHOULD BE O FEET TO SIDE OF BOAT AND THEN START YOUR 0 TO 88 FEET TO EACH SIDE,HAVE TO VISUALIZE THAT WHEN INTERPRETION IT,THAT IS WHY I SAY THEY ARE DISTANT MACHINE FROM DUCER
