I spoke to Gene last night. These 3 following pictures are DI with the beam shooting out to the side. Gene has an earlier post showing how he tilts the transducer. I rotated the pictures to make it easier to understand what you are looking at. The boat would be on the left side of the picture, and the beam is shooting towards shore. You will see the scale showing how many feet away the beam is shooting. The second picture shows rectangular dock floats with fish in between them. There are 4 rows of floats, one is hidden by the graft line. The last picture shows the board Gene talked about in the beginning of the thread. The board looks to be on the angle because Gene was pulling away from the dock as he got too close. Gene posted his pictures in groups of 2. With side looking DI, and regular SI. You can see by the pictures, that the side looking DI picks up the fish much better than the SI does.
Man that is soooooo cool!!!!!!
With siding imaging you have to be moving, can you set in one place shoot the dock and see the fish under the dock? That would be great.
agruss
agruss, with di or si you need boat moving to get good pic, however with di it only need to barely move.if you see fish under dock while big motor is on,you can tell where they are so why would you need to see them while sitting still? however I do have a di up front on a pole that when I move a lever I can see the fish under the dock but I find that I don't need it,so I use it to see brushpile in front of boat, still testing it .
