Default No SI/DI on HB 997?

Everything works except Side an Down image. No picture what so ever. Unit has been on 3 different boats same result so it's not a power/transducer problem. Crazy part is under simulator mode SI and DI work but seem very hot or blown out bright an setting sensitivity dosent do much. HB will gladly work on replace for $500 but has anyone had this problem b4? Just strange that everything works fine except SI and DI. Is the unit shot?

*Press Menu twice to get into the Main Menu System ...
*Cursor over to the Sonar tab ...
*Cursor down to "Transducer Select" ...
*Verify this is set on "Hi-Def SideScan" ...

If this doesn't work ... Restore Defaults under the Setup tab ...

    Post results ...

Thanks for chiming in Mr Rickie was hoping you would. Have done all of the above an nothing. The view of SI and DI is there but the screen is blank for the most part. Can see a little color every now an then. Under simulator mode the views are there But very bright an changing sensitivity contrast dosent do much. Transducer is set on Hi def side scan that was 1st thing I looked at. Feel really bad cause its my old unit that I sold to a buddy an after 4 trips the units gone crazy.

Ive never had a bit of trouble with the unit. Sold it an hooked it up on my friends boat everything worked fine for 3-4 trips. He took the head unit an hooked it up on another friends boat that has a 958 regular sonar set up and since then the unit has lost si and di. Like I said the views are there you just can't see anything no matter what you do to the settings? We've reset to factory default and everything I can think of.

I assume you are testing this on the water ...?? (Sonar dos not work thru air) ...

If so, and still no SI ... can you cross test your head unit on someone else's xducer or their head unit on your xducer ...??

BTW ... Simulator is a recording hard coded into the unit and is not a definitive test tool of troubleshooting ...

If you have a SD card plugged in, take it out and see if it will work. Mine did same thing one time and it took me nearly a month to figure out I had 2 upgrade files on my SD card and it somehow had the unit confused.

yes all test have been on the water. Head unit does same thing on 2 different boats. For example I put the 997 in place of my 998 and it shows no SI or DI. Put 998 back on and it worked fine.

Try Pop N Cork's suggestion of removing any SD Cards ...
    ----

Also ... If there is an AS SIDB Y cable and a shoot thru xducer connected to the unit ... Remove the cables and test the HDSI xducer plugged directly into the head unit ...

Thanks Pop. I know he has a map card in it. HB told him to take it out an re-bot which he says he did. Its just strange the unit was working fine he took it off his boat hooked to another boat that has a 958 regular transducer and now Si nor Di will show up. Screens are there but you cant see anything but maybe a glimpse of color here and there. Regular sonar works fine GPS works fine IDK whats wrong? From what ive read sounds like when these units tear up they just stop or freeze up, nothing works
