Curse of the stringer

So I go out to the lake near dark. Walk a trail back to a nice little cove and start casting. I catch 3 nice crappie. I think to myself, if they're biting this good I should keep a few. I walk back to the truck and grab the stringer. Ta-Da... Not another bite. Always take a stringer.
