Default Busy Day at the Woods

Started Today early with Randy (C1BigOCarp) at woods with high hopes of a great day. Great day outside, GCF and friend were at the ramp same time we were. Trying a new prop on my boat. Caught a few at the candy store, time got on, fish slowed, we moved on. Almost. Both of us are good sized and with a full livewell the new prop was to tall to get us up on a plane. Idled back to the ramp, consult with mechanic, go back home and get the old prop, go back to lake. More fish to catch. Boat works good now. Tried some holes we knew and caught a few, but didn't find what we were looking for. Moved up by the dam where someone had just left as we were coming across the lake. Motored around, dropped a marker and began to fish. I pulled out 2 long poles and tried the Fishawk method of jigging with a pole in each hand. Worked well, Randy and I finished about 4PM, sunburned and totally whipped, with 11 (I think) crappie and a chunky bream in the well. Aside from the mechanical issue, a real nice day and a new method learned. Hope some of y'all got to go. Here's a pic of 4 nice ones from today's catch. Tight Lines.....Tim

You da man, GCF!! Most of the way home we realized neither of us had drank enough water. Being in the sun all day we were dehydrated. Took a while for me to get enough in me to feel better, and had no energy. Cloud cover fooled me, I usually pay more attention to this. Even got the boat covered before the monsoon set in. Good to see y'all out there today GCF. We'll do it again soon.

Same thing happened to me with that dehydration.I too was feeling awful for a while and thats why I quit when I did. Sunburn is pretty bad here too. I should have drank more water while fishing.

I you notice that is a blue boat behind those 2 good looking guys. We may have something here. I am going to have to work on this Fishawk thing. Several bites that I missed but it could have been those dull hooks that Skeet filed down when I was not looking. I am going to have to rig one reel that I wind with my left hand and one with my right. Maybe and electric reel that you push a button and it reels them in?
