    I've been doing ok at Upper the past couple of weeks that's one lake that you don't have to worry about the water level.

    thank you javelin, i got to try it out after it warms up.............you been useing jigs or minnows or both??

    I’ve been using both and usually have better luck on minnows but the past few times jigs have been the ticket.

    It's in North West Alabama in between Phil Campbell and Haleyville.

    Upper Bear is a good crappie lake with some good sizes in it.

    Javelin 180 go to Bear Creek school take the road at the school go until you cross the lake first right past the bridge is the Twin Forks dock there you will be at the dam which is the center of the lake.

    Yes, the permit is available at all campgrounds and many of the bait shops/convenience stores in area. 3$ per day or 25$ for season I believe. Chevron west of Russellville on 24 has permits and minnows as does Cedar Ridge Campround( turn right just past mile marker 14 going west) 2 miles down road) good ramp adjacent to great campground.

    Thank you for that information! I was in a deer hunting club for a couple years, just South of Cedar Hill lake. Never fished either of these lakes, but may try this year. Is there a restriction on outboard motor size at either?
