    I don't think any of the guys on the board using high-end JDM reels think of them only as "line holders".

    IMO, the high-end spinning reels do everything better.

    It’s hard to imagine the sinking line messing up the hook set. Fluoro line sinks and the bass guys don’t have problems setting the hook. It sounds like you have too much slack in the line.
