I always got a quart ziplock back, fill it a 1/4...
I always got a quart ziplock back, fill it a 1/4 way with dog food then roll the bag up and put a zip tie on it. Then poke a couple of holes in it with a pocket knife. The food would last longer.

I personally don’t because I spider rig 95% of the time. I know an older fellow that used to smoke the crappie in the Lilly pad stems around hwy 67 in flint. Might be worth a try.

Fishing 6FOW and less I use a single 1/4 oz jig head. Fishing deeper than that I use 2-1/4 oz jig heads. Sometimes I feel like I need more weight.

I can say with 100% certainty they help me catch...
I can say with 100% certainty they help me catch more fish. I spider rig relatively shallow, but even then i can see where the fish are in the water column and put my jigs right on top of them....
