I have fished similar places and two things that have worked for me are a spoon and a float an jig but they usually don't take the float down it will tip up. Not a lot of spoon fishermen around...

I only use blade jigs when pull jigs or in fast moving water like below dams . They are more expensive so I'm not throwing one in a tree top. Just a jig for me 90% of the time
