The best and cheapest way to ship rods is in a piece of 4 inch sewer pipe. Stuff with newspaper and duct tape the ends. I think it’s around $10-15 shipping if I remember correctly.

Sounds like you need to hire a guide and learn how to fish. Maybe you could learn some new tactics so you wouldn’t be so burdened.

About to reline all of my poles and was looking for advice on line/leader combos. I mainly spider rig with a football weight above a barrel swivel and then a single hook/jig tied to about 20 inches...

I have this same setup. I love the sensitivity of the tips for sure. I will try your method on my next trip.

I spider rig, rarely use over 1/2 ounce of lead, we catch fish over two pounds quite often, and deeper depths just make it a little tougher to lift fish with the amount of bend the C&Cs have.

I’ve been trolling for for two years now and have been using 14ft Capps and Coleman trolling rods. I love the sensitivity of the rods and feel I catch a lot of fish that I wouldn’t with a stiffer...

I fished for about 4 hours Saturday morning and came home with 15 good fish.

Appreciate all the replies. I will give it a shot and see what happens. The worst that can happen is I go fishing.
