Caught a few males that were blackened but none of the 16 fish caught had eggs. Does this mean they already spawned? he lac of eggs tells me one thing but the blacked males tells me another

That's still insane.... if a single crappie lays low end 20,000 eggs and only 1% survive then 200 crappie will grow to be full size from just that one fish!!!

You qualify for access if you are retired/active military or work for the Department of Defense. Its an amazing bass/crappie lake, if you meet the requirements highly suggest you give it a try.
