I have a powerdrive and a terrova and the PD definitely makes a louder, different noise when turning, than the Terrova. I do not believe it will hurt anything, just a characteristic of the motor.

I have cleaned thousands on a set of rapala blades. The trigger mechanism broke just last week but the blades were still getting it done. Never sharpened them the first time
