Using a transom mount just didnt work on my jon boat. I had a variable speed as well. When sitting in the back the front raised up and just became a sail. I wouldn't even go out on light breezy days...

If i remember correctly a 10 watt led is equivalent to a 60 watt incandescent, you should be plenty good.

Those suckers are attracted by beer. Nightstalkers are expecially vulnerable to them, but i can speak from experience that the more beer and the later in the evening the less unattractive they become.
