Thinking about Trying Elk Creek or Starve Hollow lake but have never been to either lake, will be fishing for Bluegills and Crappie. Any thoughts on where to start?

​Any one having any success with Crappie, Gills or Redear on John Hays, last couple of trips have been pretty sloooooooooooooow.

Not much luck for us, we caught a couple of blue gills and yellow bass. Lake was packed and we left early.

Plan on heading to Hardy in the morning and wanted to check how the bite is going for Bluegill and Crappie. Thanks for any update.

Just use some common sense, just take a bucket and a plastic bag and dispose properly later.

Thanks for the info guys. It is amazing how many show up to fish the lake, I wish they would expand the parking area and fix the road so that it was not so hard to get in and find a place to park.
