Here's what they were caught on, the bottom one was on a 1" orange curl tail. those are all 1/64oz size 10 hooks, top is a nymph style jig and the other two are just thread neck calf tails....

I have been getting into a good amount of 8" gills and figured I would share some pics....

I've heard of the mud sunfish, we have the same thing for them up here in New York. The other three never heard of, and I've never seen any of them.

Fair point, but to me it's a variety thing. I could tie 1 style and color of jig that's gonna work for me 90% of the time, but I tie a bunch of styles and colors for fun.

Ive had a lot of success on them but I like panther martins better, most of the time its too weedy where I fish to use them effectively.

I just want to thank everyone that suggested the 2lb trout magnet sos line, got to try casting it with 1/64oz jigs today and I easily get 30-40' casts which is really more than I need for targeting...

Got a chatterbait micro today and can't leave well enough alone, so I pulled the skirt off and replaced it with squirrel tail. Should be killer on bass and crappies. ...

im using .018 beading wire to attach the stinger and just tying it to the front hook using a good bit of super glue. I plan on doing a video on this soon.

Does anyone use a head lamp for tying? I use a desk lamp now but I can't position it where it's not shining in my eyes giving me a headache after a while and it's too dark without it.

I think the difference in brands is more in color shades than quality, but I know what you mean about bad lengths. I would suggest trying to get your local shop to order some for you, if they know...

Tangling the line and stinger I can't help, but to connect the stinger use beading wire. I will be making a video on this once I get it nailed down, but I'll look for an articulated pattern to show...

So this is what I came up with, based on the little skunk from nothead tackle. It is about 1/32oz and a number 6 front hook with a size 12 stinger....
