I have used 16’ slab city rods with 5/8 oz weights and never had a problem with tips breaking so I’m not sure what’s going on there. I don’t think it would be a problem using the 3/4 oz weights but...

Very nice! I used some boards from an old tobacco barn on my family’s farm to build a chicken house. It’s much harder than just buying new but worth the effort.
