I have an 03 60hp and there is a bolt under the trim tab. You have to take the tab off to get to it. Lower unit isnt coming off until you take it out. The shaft is splined and slips in and out. Billy

Not sure what kind you have but there should be a manual relief screw somewhere on the unit. This lets you raise or lower the motor in case you have problems with the T/T and need to move it by hand....

Get them wet before you tighten them. This helped when I used them. I use the rubber ones now.....I like them better. Billy
