Default Any thougts on the formatt change?

A few months ago Slab changed the formatt too allow only fishing reports were allowed on the page with all other comment to be posted on the other "off topic" page.
I feel like we lost that good feeling the page had when people were free to post about the grand kids graduation, birth of a child, death in the family, whatever.

It seems to me that something is not there anymore and I don't see as many posts as before( even including the off topic items) .

I understand the thinking behind the move, it is Slab's page.
I'm just looking for feed back. Am I the only one that feels out of the loop on what's going on in SC people's lives?
I follow the North Carolina board and the Michigan board while there, and have found the South Carolina board the friendliest, most welcoming board. It felt like family
    Many thoughts?

It seems to me that most of the regular folks that used to post regularly about their fishing trips either stopped fishing or stopped sharing their trips with the rest of us???? I think that they are still fishing, but they don't want to share their trips with us. I always enjoy reading their posts.

A lot of the State pages have been slow. It is getting to be fall and fishing should pick up.
Post and activity seem to be contagious. I have found it gets people to talking. Sometimes a hey how is everyone doing post gets things moving also

I donít remember making a specific change. We always had a SC primary forum and an off topic forum. We encourage ot to take place on the ot forum but itís not a rule. And sometimes weíll move something to ot if we feel it better belongs there. But itís all grass roots. As long as itís family friendly weíre cool if you post pretty much anywhere you want.

And yep, it has been slow. Summer is always slow. But they starting to bite now for sure, and itíll pick up.

Do not know what change you speak of.....SC has always had a off topic sub forum. It's just like it's always been. But overall posting all over the boards has slowed down some....it always does Sept- Oct. It will pick up soon.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I guess you all are right. Looks like last December we added the Off Topic forum (Stump Hunter has a sticky here about it). Other states have had OT forums for a long time, many years. I just figured we had added it here years ago. But in any case, there's no strict rules of use about it. I'm a Floridian, and I know the Florida OT forum does not get a lot of activity, not like the main Florida forum at all. So it's your preference. Post where you like. Heck, if you all really don't want the SC OT forum, we can actually get rid of it. Grass roots is what we're all about. And family friendly of course.

Come to think about it the change came about the time Ofishlbizzess took over as moderator , he must be to blame.
He was feeling the high power of his new office
I vote we go back to the way it was .
    That is all
